As a mother, sister, daughter & doula I set up Mama Blessings to support, honour and celebrate a woman’s journey along her life path. In doing so we bring respect, knowledge & dignity to her & her family. Generation after generation.
Mama Blessings was born out of a love of living a holistic life and a desire to help women experience a blissful birth.
As a Birth Doula I truly believe that all women, no matter where or how they birth, can achieve a positive birth experience. My role is to “mothering the mother” – enabling a woman to have the most satisfying and empowered time that she can during pregnancy, birth and the early days as a new mum. This type of support also helps the whole family to relax and enjoy the experience.
If you are pregnant and looking for a doula in Northumberland and Newcastle-upon-Tyne, I hope you find my page encouraging and a guiding hand on your journey to parenthood.
Alongside information on my birth & postnatal work, you’ll also discover a lovely collection of umbilical cord ties, a beautiful alternative to the traditional hospital clamp.
“Thank you for being so fantastic at the birth of my third child this weekend. I didn’t get the homebirth I had planned, but you helped me through the scariest few hours of my life and I was able to accept I needed a csection far easier than I would have if you weren’t there. My husband is so grateful that you were there to explain everything to him and despite things not going to plan, labouring to 8cm at home was such a fantastic and calming experience. We really couldn’t have done it without you. If we were to have another baby I wouldn’t hesitate to have you as my doula! ~ Sarah ”
“I feel great on them! My mum commented on how much happier I seem than after the boys and I has noticed a difference too. Loads of energy, no baby blues, just normal me! ~ Harriet ”
A note about placenta encapsulation …
“Natalie, thank you so much for your continual support throughout my journey. Through a few failed pregnancies and one successful but extremely tough one I found your support and friendship invaluable. You encouraged positivity and peace.
Although you weren’t present at the birth, you were a constant form of support and did amazing placenta work which I 100% know was responsible for a dramatic reduction in my PND compared with previous pregnancies.
Thanks so much for being there for us ~ Jenny, Allan and family ”
